Hide and chic
Since he established William & Son, his luxury goods store in Mayfair in 1999, William Asprey, the seventh generation of the silver and jewellery family, has been seeking to fill it with beautifully made jewellery, watches, silverware
and crystal.
To add to his offering, Asprey recently acquired RBJ Simpon & Co, creators of handcrafted leather goods such as attaché cases, luggage and wallets. Robert Simpson uses bridle hide, which is used for saddlery and comes from a traditional UK based equestrian producer.

Weston Alliance
A few years ago classic French moccasin maker J.M. Weston and Maison Kitsuné, known for its deceptively simple artisanal clothing were invited to collaborate on a project for a fashion magazine.
So impressed was J. M. Weston’s new artistic director, Michel Perry, by the shoes they produced that he decided to create a capsule collection based on the collaboration and it has just been launched in the two brands’ various
stores in Paris, London and Tokyo. The theme of this new range is the scent of East Hampton complete with long afternoons spent on boats with friends - in preppy heaven.

Grand Canali
Gritty urbanism meets ethereal elegance, New York City’s Meatpacking District has a distinct design vibe. Its latest recruit is Italian design house Canali whose stunning new showroom opened this summer.
The aim, says Canali, is to create an ambience similar to that of its Milan showroom – an impressive space in which to display the collection in a more comprehensive, integrated way. The company has moved from a space of less than 9,000 square feet in Midtown Manhattan to enjoy around 11,000 square feet plus a lower level featuring a cafeteria for
buyers, clients and employees. Natural wood and marble create an understated backdrop for Canali’s elegant collections.

SHOES
Sweeney Shod
To celebrate its 20th anniversary shoemaker Oliver Sweeney has taken a number of favourites from its original 1991 Walk of Art collection and updated them.
Among these adaptations is Walsh, a versatile oxford brogue, inspired by the original Redgrave brogue from 1991. The brogueing, which in centuries past allowed water to escape from the shoe when the wearer crossed boggy
ground, adds to the elegance of this highlypractical style. This Autumn it comes in luscious tan and a classic black.
